Not any old History of England
This podcast has been a revelation that I have enjoyed during longish drives of late. It’s told with a wonderful wry sense of humour. I sneak a listen at many an odd hour. As a schoolboy I disliked English History intensely. I couldn’t see the point in having to memorise what kings came when and couldn’t understand why these largely cruel and narcissistic power hungry people deserved so much admiration. In my 60’s now I can see how relevant it is to know world history to get a better perspective of the how’s and why’s of our times.

David Crowther does a really great job of bringing English History to life. His style is light-hearted, vernacular, pithy and with loads of dry humour. At the same time he is informative and thorough. A GREAT HISTORY PODCAST
