“I love literature, but when I downloaded this podcast I expected to be bored out of my mind. I thought learning more about something I enjoy was worth putting up with encyclopedia-type descriptions of classic books and authors. I was quite surprised with what the podcast really is. Listening to Jacke is very refreshing and I enjoy his emotional takes on the books he admires, and how he tries to make everything approachable by comparing modern day situations to the ones described on the books (sometimes maybe too much). I think this isn't a podcast for everyone, but it definitely is for me. Just a note: the podcast feed includes episodes of another programme he does. If you only want to hear to the literature ones, listen to the ones numbered. Keep up the good work Jacke.”Read full review »

“Quite simply the best podcast out there on the history of literature. Accept no imitations. My favorite episodes are when Jacke and Mike Palindrome take off the gloves and have at it (I'll even forgive Mike for dissing Don Quixote).”Read full review »
