This history lecture is not boring!
A great and concise retelling (not lecturing) of the history of Rome from it's humble and deceptive beginnings to its whimpering end. Mike Duncan does not lecture in a single monotone voice that would put caffeinated college students to sleep, but does it in a way that adds enough color and description as to not change the history, but make it seem relevent and exciting. If you know plenty of Roman history, you'll appreciate its simplicity yet able to convey a sense of the Romans. If you don't, you'll learn and be entertained all at the same time!Read full review »

More reviews of The History of Rome
An interesting introduction to the history of a city that resonates 2000 years later. The author does not condescend to his audience.

Mike Duncan has an excellent voice and manner, and the material he delivers is well put together and makes it very plain that the Roman history was full of political hard-ball...Read full review »
