This podcast is full of information that most of us don’t know about the Holocaust. Not just historical facts, but the background about why things happened, the social, economic and other factors that led to the Holocaust as well as how it impacted people while it was happening. The impacts on...Read full review »

Although I hesitate slightly in saying that I “enjoy” this podcast I also could recommend it enough. Great guests and in-depth interviews that approach aspects of the Holocaust that I hadn’t considered before. Excellent stuff.

I’m really psyched to have found this recent podcast on Holocaust topics with Waitman Beorn. He talks at length and in depth with Holocaust scholars about specific and very varied topics of the Holocaust. Their discussions are great gateways to these subjects with a recommended literature list at...Read full review »

I so appreciate this podcast and its approach. The host allows guests to talk without interrupting them, but also adds to the conversation appropriately. Though the subject matter is very difficult, I am very grateful for the creation of this excellent resource. I’ve listened to several of the...Read full review »

This episode is among the best of this series so far. It helped explain WHY I felt discomfort watching this film. Many scenes were devastating even though there was no actual action onscreen. Don’t be deceived by the subdued cinematography and turn up the volume of the soundtrack and pay attention.

Beorn brings top guests with a variety of perspectives. Sensitive antidote to the simplistic views of a subjects people think they know about. Silver bullet for deniers!

Whilst a difficult subject to rate, the varied insights in the pod have really opened my eyes and make me think about aspects that never crossed my mind before. The hosts style is good, he lets his guests get their message/views across, only interrupting when really necessary. Well worth a...Read full review »

Wow, Stipe Odak talking about the complex and multi layered political and historical narrative of the background and more recent history of the Jasenovac concentration camp was eye opening, and truely fascinating. His ability to succinctly explain a complex story with authority is a rear talent....Read full review »

Waitman Wade Beorn’s podcast is real public scholarship in history, delivered in accessible language. The conversation is serious and substantive, and treats the (admittedly grim) material with the gravity it deserves. The podcast is engrossing and appeals to anyone who wants to know more about...Read full review »

This is a masterful series which unearths details previously less known or missed. Waitman is a fitting advocate for the murdered and his determination shines through. I thought I had studied this subject in depth but glad to be brought up to date with these thoughtful and engaging discussions....Read full review »

So we all know about the holocaust don’t we? What this podcast does is shine a light on exactly what we don’t know, what we should know and provides us with reasons not to forget. A desperately harrowing subject matter explained in the best possible way. It provokes the need to understand and...Read full review »

I love the topics that are covered they are all unusual aspects of the holocaust I have never heard about before. Particularly loved the one about the archeology and the one about Toft . Really engaging and important

Like the title of my review says, my wife doesn’t understand my fascination with this topic…. Nevertheless, I am fascinated and it’s great to have “access” to a contemporary academic view of this history. Keep on doing your thing - really great so far and no doubt future episodes will also be great.

Covers a diverse range of topics around the history of the Holocaust, many of which are less well known. An engaging, knowledgeable host and guests plus reading recommendations make this a good choice for those, like me, who are looking to expand their horizons on the history of this period.

Dr Beorn and his guest do a great job explaining different aspects of The Holocaust. It’s definitely not an easy subject to hear about but it’s so important and thankful for the podcast.

Waitman and his guests know of what they speak. Right now the need for a podcast on The Holocaust in all its forms could not be more pressing. The only way to challenge denial is with facts.
