Another Sad truth of Irish history
I’m astonished that the last mother & baby home only closed in 1996! As a 57 year old 1st generation England born women of Irish parents, my experience with being 17 and pregnant in the 1970s was so different. My parents had escaped from the power of the Catholic Church, they had not the best education but they knew they wanted a better way of life. I was loved and supported unconditionally. Thank god they did.

Such a gut wrenching sad story. You left saddened for the women and children who’s lives were treated like nothing. Well told.
