Absolutely heartbreaking but a must-listen-to, to bring light to terrible injustices that are still being felt today. Well researched and presented.

I absolutely loved this pod cast. As an adoptee from a different home in ireland I found this so sad but such an important story that needed to be told. Thank you for telling it. I loved hearing the women talking.

How Becky managed to pull this together and keep her composure at all times is astounding, yet she does, and does so beautifully and sympathetically. This isn’t an easy listen but it’s testament to how history shouldn’t always just be accepted and left alone; that those still impacted by it need...Read full review »

The subject matter is very sad but it’s beautifully told. The babies, the mothers. I can’t imagine their pain.

Such a gut wrenching sad story. You left saddened for the women and children who’s lives were treated like nothing. Well told.

There are no words for the way that these women and babies were treated and the work of Catherine Corless sheds light on what was kept in the dark for far too long. Thank you for telling their stories and for helping to give a voice to the ones who were silenced.

Think this is a very important podcast for everyone to listen to. However, I’m very disappointed that narrator get he name wrong if the Magdalen Laundries. She calls them Madeline Laundries. This is not acceptable.

Being Irish we’ve been brought up with this secret culture, which I think it extremely difficult for people outside to understand. Becky does it so perfectly with respect and understanding. Thank you

Thank you so much for making this marvellous podcast and putting it in the public domain. As someone of Irish descent with family in Ireland these sorts of issues need airing for the country to move on. Thank you. God bless Catherine Corless.

I’m astonished that the last mother & baby home only closed in 1996! As a 57 year old 1st generation England born women of Irish parents, my experience with being 17 and pregnant in the 1970s was so different. My parents had escaped from the power of the Catholic Church, they had not the...Read full review »
