“First time listening to the Hook Up, will make sure to check out more of the episodes.
Loved the episode of ‘Your Weight in a Relationship’. So nice to hear about real peoples experience but horrible to hear so many women/men are in toxic relationships. Anyone that truly loves you wouldn’t love you on conditional terms and wouldn’t put you down, someone who truly loves and cares for you, will encourage, support and help you to feel good they will not make you feel like you are not enough.
Being slimmer is not going to change that person, it will never be good enough to them. The issue is being with someone who isn’t actually in love with you, it is about being in a relationship with a person who is unfortunately narcissistic and emotionally abusive.
The Love and Eating Disorders episode was not bad but honestly not that insightful and didn’t delve deep.
Would be good if it went into more depth about the impacts of mood, rituals, habits in a relationship and how it interferes with being fully present when your mind is constantly elsewhere. Also when you prioritise your disordered eating over a partner and how that feels.
I’m 30, my disordered eating began when I was 11. It’s in recent years that finally realised how much disordered eating has impacted my relationships and what I think I deserve.
I liked that it covered the feeling of dissociating from the present situation and not having emotion, very relatable.”
