“So, I work about 40 mins away from home. In my drive, I get bored. A couple of months ago, I decided to search for a good podcast app for my phone. I found one, then I browsed through some horror movie stuff and found about 5 shows I subscribed to. I listened to one, it was okay- found it to be kind of bland in the long run. I then found The Horror Show, and I have spent the last 2 months listening to every single episode anytime I get a chance to listen to podcasts. I listen driving to work, coming home from work, on my lunch break, you name it. This show is that good.
The basic concept…Sean and Joe, two best friends, sit around and discuss a horror movie. They go through the plot piece by piece and comment on the usually funny stuff that they find from each movie. They usually tend to do bad movies, but they have done a lot of top notch films that they actually found enjoyable. They run through the plot, linking the movie to previous films they have discussed or previous works from the same actors, the same director, or they will just link it to a similar horror movie. In the end, you know they’re true horror fans, as they can rattle off a bunch of facts you don’t even remember from the movies you love so much from yesteryear. They prove, time and time again, that they love horror movies as much as we love horror movies. And that’s why the show just works.
For The Horror Show, you come for the horror movie talk, but you stay for the hilarious banter between these two, who have some of the best chemistry you could ever hope for in a comedy duo. This is a podcast for lovers of horror, but I’d go further and say it’s a podcast for people who don’t necessarily even like horror but love to laugh. It truly is like spending an hour each week with some of your best friends, just sitting around a living room talking about horror movies and laughing hysterically at some of the ludicrous plot holes, silly plot points, ridiculous kills, etc from all sorts of horror. Sean and Joe are the heart of this show. These two good friends could talk about any topic, and you’d feel like you were in a comfortable home away from home, for an hour each week. Sean seems to run the show overall, and Joe seems like a co-host who came along after the fact, but most of the time these roles play out pretty evenly. Sean tends to guide the flow of the conversation for each movie, and Joe tends to follow along making hilarious comments and coming up with funny insights along the way. Remind me of a buddy cop duo- you can tell they have good chemistry together, constantly playing off each others strengths to craft a fast paced, always funny, never dull show. It's an art to get this stuff flowing well, and by the time you realize it, an hour as passed and you're sad the time flew by so quickly.
Seriously cannot tell people how great these two are together and how fun the show is in general. They put a lot of heart into each episode, and though they often lack the confidence to know what they’re doing is truly great, it’s never lost on the audience, because this stuff just plain works. Would recommend to anyone who likes horror movies or just loves to laugh. Top notch stuff- this is what the medium is all about.”Read full review »

“First of all like many people I probably discovered this podcast during the Halloween season. I instantly realized some of my favorite movies had already been reviewed like night of the demons, the phantasm movies and Ghoulies 3. I really enjoy the banter between these two gentlemen and I feel...”Read full review »
