I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this podcast. I am sad to hear of the hiatus being placed, but as an author, full time employee and father of five young children, I fully understand the reasons behind it. Follow the dreams guys, and we will be here supporting you all the way! -Alex...Read full review »

I have been a fan of this podcast in all its iterations, from J. only to Richard to Zach. I find the advice invaluable and the debates on all things horror are great!

This is one of my favourite podcasts. J and Zach get to the heart of horror's darkness in a warm, humorous way, and clearly have a deep love and passion for the genre.

This is the best horror podcast! Not only are the two authors informative and passionate about their craft, they are entertaining as well!

Is there a name for the stuff that's left when you run out of filler? "Yet another time-sucking product of the Internet Self Publishing 101, day 1, create-a-platform class"? There's a drowning-not-waving desperation in podcasts like this, where notional "pro" presenters desperately try to upsell...Read full review »

I started with the latest episode, talking about Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary.” Loved it. Wonderful podcast for readers and writers alike. Loved hearing other horror writers’ insights into King’s early writing style, career, etc. Highly recommended.

I feel like the Horror Writer's Podcast is still trying to find itself, but despite this it's a very enjoyble/easy listen. I would have given it 5 stars if it focused a bit more on the horror genre/ writing; that said, the episode with one of the host's editors on as a guest was truly terrifying.

I’ve known about J. Thorn for a while now as a successful indie author, but only recently found out that he had this podcast. I decided to try it out, and I’m really glad I did. I’ve been listening to all the episodes from the beginning and learning something new every time. J. and his co-host...Read full review »

Tuning in to this podcast is like hanging out with a couple of buds who happen to also write horror. Sure, there is some good info being passed around, but after being so emerged in other podcasts and blogs and writer’s boards, it’s not like the information I hear from them is always unique to...Read full review »

Solid content for the serious writer. I don’t write horror, but gain tons of info from these guys as they offer up how they’ve done it, how they do it, and how they will do it. No platitudes.

Great show for indie authors. Current topics, great insights, plenty to be learned from the hosts and guests. A good balance between info and goofing around. I make it a point to listen each week in addition to other similar podcasts like SPP, SPRT, Creative Penn, and Sell More Books Show. Thanks...Read full review »

Horror writer J. Thorn offers plenty of concisely formatted information and guidance for authors of ANY genre. His focus is mostly on gaining visibility and promotion. He wastes no time on social gibbering, and the podcast is one you’d share with friends and family. In other words, nothing...Read full review »
