Well narrated teen story, ponderous pace of plot revelations

“Chris Snelgrove does a very good job of narration and the character voices are easily distinguished. His narration is the best part of the podcast.
The story itself is teen oriented and involves exceptional teens (actually unbelievable in some respects given their ages) at an exceptional private high school. There are mysteries to be revealed, both in plot and the characters. The story telling is descriptive and fun to listen to up to a point. My main criticism with the podcast is that the author, Collin Earl, is as miserly as a Scotsman at a charity ball in divulging details of the plot line and characters. I finally gave up on the podcast at episode 14 because I lost patience in the pace. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the listeners would have to wait until a second or third book until they are rewarded. I for one don’t have the time to spend in this pursuit and will seek out tighter woven story telling.
The author has some skill, but he is still fine tuning his craft. I urge him to take a stab at some short stories to challenge himself in the area of plot and character development.
Bottom line: The 14 episodes I listened to could be condensed down to 4 if the author eliminated the main character’s constant self introspection (I am ugly, she is hot, I don’t understand this or that), mundane descriptions of nonsense details (bathroom breaks, walking to class), and the other drivel that rather than progressing the plot forward ends up subjecting the listener to the podcasting equivalent of Chinese water torture. If you choose to listen, do so while reading another book or the news, you can always rewind to catch a significant detail that slips out.”Read full review »

In each case it was the most entertaining thing i could think of to do during those times when you are wondering what to...”Read full review »

“My wife and I listened to all the episodes that were available during a long car trip. We were almost sad when we got to our destination because we wanted to keep listening. I have no idea what is going to happen next. That is a refreshing change. Keep up the great work Collin. We can't wait...”Read full review »
