Get ready to be transported...
The Hyacinth Disaster sets the standard in the sci-fi audiodrama genre (which is amazing considering this is the author's first full-length offering). The Hyacinth Disaster doesn't fall prey to unbelievable or confusing sci-fi gibberish; it expertly balances a futuristic setting with relatable characters and concepts that welcome you into their world and transport you from your couch (or car, or wherever you prefer to listen) to the the Hyacinth bridge and beyond. The story and voice acting is excellent and from the first episode onwards I found myself connected to the ship and its crew, an attachment that made certain events in the story line evoke very strong emotions and kept me hooked until the very last magnificent moment. I eagerly await the next audiodrama from this talented writer/creator and cast, but until then I'm queuing up The Hyacinth Disaster for another listen because it is just that good!Read full review »
