After having visited some of the gems there I dropped by in the home of Holly Keyser who owns and runs the unusual and charming coffee establishment Skool Beans.  We talked about everything that Vík has to offer, from movies shot there to all the natural wonders of the area.

I was in the charming house called Ós in Borgarfjörður Eystri in East Iceland just next to the ocean. Peaceful and inspiring sounds of the waves idling away in the background for some truly calming times, I was visited there by Árni Magnús Magnússon who is truly passionate about this lovely region. He runs various trips in the area and could probably name every rock in the area!

I was on the road and dropped by in the town of Sauðárkrókur and the museum 1238 which covers legendary battles in the history of Iceland. There I met Helgi Sæmundur Guðmundsson and Steinunn Gunnsteinsdóttir who are true locals that work there. Together we dove into some bloody but fun history, with a virtual twist.

In this Episode we visit the special building Perlan or the Pearl where I met Steffi Meisl who works in marketing there. Perlan is definitely one of the major landmarks in Iceland, a pearl looking dome on top of six water tanks, perched on the hilltop of Öskjuhlíð in Reykjavík. One can’t miss it.The immersive Wonders of Iceland exhibition is there and Steffi gives us insights into what it is all about.
