The YouTube team is introducing a bundle of new features for their platform, such as immersive channel pages and a cleaner landscape experience, as well as user-requested functionalities including collaborative playlists, sleep timers, and variable playback speed. Meta is also testing video selfies as a way for users to verify their identity and regain access to compromised Facebook and Instagram accounts, using facial recognition technology that deletes data immediately after comparison.
