Painful to listen to this Last three weeks I was in London travelling from rural Scotland to help an Elderly friend I have known for 39 years Getting old in London is not easy but coming back to this podcast in the last days of my stay a youth carried a crossbow arrows and killed two people I...Read full review »

Tormented indeed! My ears are still buzzing from the god awful sound effects the economist decided to use underneath the vocal track. Normally, I enjoy all of the stories the daily podcast offers. Today, not so much.

Agree with other reviewers that Jason’s lovely English voice makes this podcast fantastic to listen to in the morning. I don’t want to wake up to urban/african accents and Ore’s PC preaching and race baiting. Such a shame.

Left bent? Continual beating up the West, praising China and the CCP? Inaccurate reporting and selective editing; Economist seems to have shifted from centre right to far left? you want me to pay for this diatribe? The only thing worth listening too? The irony here is that with the Economist...Read full review »

Sorry need to unsubscribe. It is a wonderful podcast. But I have had enough with the political correctness of this magazine. As a non-native speaker, we listen to this podcast, not only to broaden our view about the world but also to learn English. Too many foreign accent of the English. At least...Read full review »

Powerful, heartbreaking, urgent. These are stories that needed to be told and need to be listened to.

I love Economist podcasts but advertising sponsors on a paid subscriber-only show seems mean-spirited.

I agree with some of the other reviews…it’s less about the news and content and more about her and her need to sound interesting and oh so cool. Sorry, also very annoying voice for podcasting.

This podcast is great. However, I cannot believe I am being made to listen to ads after paying for an Economist Podcasts+ subscription. Ridiculous and disgusting.

Your massive underreporting of numbers in the Gaza Strip is mind-boggling. Do better. Your stats are pathetically low-balled.

Shame on you for the lack of reporting on the annihilation happening in Palestine. The utter lack of coverage- no critical examination of a brutal occupation that’s culminated in a cruel siege that’s beyond brutal. Where do you live? You don’t see the images in your news feeds? I am deeply,...Read full review »

I would give this show 5 stars if it were hosted only by Jason Palmer. The female host Ogunbiyi doesn’t seem to realize she’s not the news and I am perplexed by her inserting herself into the topic whenever possible. Todays show with that “you are welcome”? Seriously. Get yourself a talk show,...Read full review »

Are used to like the Economist podcasts. However, in recent years, there has been a slow and steady decline in quality. Now it seems everything is driven by quantity versus quality. Nine out of 10 podcasts, I stop about 2 minute into them and delete them straight away because the topics are...Read full review »

Great mix of news coverage and interesting cultural bits. Loving the new Ore + Jason host duo and, obviously, all those Economist puns (including in the episode titles!). Your show makes me a better conversationalist. Keep up the great work, team!!

Shamelessly biased journalism. Apparently Islamophobia and Palestinian genocide are a figment of the world’s imagination.

To hear both an advert by BP lying about their climate wrecking behaviour, AND a feature on carbon capture that was WOEFULLY skewed AGAINST what scientists and IPCC reports have been declaring in the last few years. I don’t know why I’m surprised but it’s incredibly dangerous.

This pod should be great but it is overproduced to the point where i question whether the presenters are AI generated. the whole thing just feels very false. The Economist has become my main source of news. I find the mainstream news quite overwhelming and sensational. I find the Economist’s approach to reporting the facts, with little opinion, both balanced and informative. Leaving me to form my own views. I get the attempted move to a subscription-based model. I’m sure you had some well-paid consultants make the case to you. Unfortunately you are a few years too late. I’m really disappointed in you, Intelligence team. How could you run an entire story on bungee jumping without even a single mention of its origin as a rite of passage for the ni-Vanuatu on Pentecost Island? You actually refer to that white man as “inventing” the sport. Shame on you.

Scratch off ticket ads? Really??? Love the show and avidly listen, but if they’re going to bury the content in ads or hide it behind a pay-wall, you can count me out. Can’t wait to see the change in followers after Oct 24th
