Love this podcast
I did not know what to think or expect when The Economist announced it was replacing the week in review podcast with a daily podcast because I really liked the week in review. Having now had the chance to listen to the new format for a few weeks, I love it. The daily format allows for more stories over the course of the week, greater coverage of those stories, and more timely delivery of those stories. What has not changed is coverage of stories that I do not think we would otherwise ever hear in the US. The podcast runs around 20 minutes, and I actually listen to it 1.5x, so it takes me less than 15 minues each day to listen to the full podcast. It is in my feed each morning by around 7:30, so I am able to listen to it each morning on the way to work. I really do not like watching the news, so this podcast is one of my main sources of news. In sum, I would be disappointed if The Economist returned to the weekly format. I have no connection to The Economist or anyone who works for The Economist.

Each morning’s episode informs you about stories that span global politics, culture, art and sciences, language, and (of course) some economics and finance. I was growing...Read full review »
