I’m all for a good mystery - even an unsolved one. But there was so much redundant and duplicative content here, I actually checked multiple times to see whether I’d inadvertently skipped backwards. This was disorienting at first, but as I caught on to how often the show was repeating itself, it...Read full review »

An interesting idea but the team drags so much out of it that they completely kill any spark it had. I gave up when they started making their own puzzle. Such a blatantly desperate ploy for content.

I agree with other reviews that this is a bit slow and could have been concluded much sooner. I did stick with it and it was ok, very average, but did feel like giving up sooner as the content was a bit weak. I do wonder if this is targeted at a much younger audience. I also found many of the...Read full review »

Really enjoyed listening, if anything I wanted more episodes! Hope to see more from these two :)

Content for max 2-3 episodes. This is soooooo slow. I kept thinking something must happen to warrant going over and over the same basic points but it nothing changes.

I am confused that Nicky receives a long email with attachments and contacts in episode seven, but doesn’t investigate them? Is it surprising that cyberpunks would not want to give out information? I am sure that is part of their manifesto! Secret groups are secret for a reason…that took a year...Read full review »

Wow! Just finished both seasons!! Fascinating!! Love the pod! More please!

He over enunciates in speech, but is fine when chatting. Extremely annoying. Interesting pod, but very slow

I enjoy your shows, really liked the one previous, but in this one, the audio is everywhere really hard to listen to sometimes what are you guys doing?

I really wanted to love this but decided to bail after episode one. If it was a film I’d say it was a bit slow. Some podcasts have a brilliant idea but take so long to get to it I lose interest. Taking six episodes to say what could be said in four is frustrating. Probably my failing. Sorry!
tiggylegg via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/10/24
The fact it took them this many episodes to reach the most blatantly obvious non-conclusion and not offer up anything new really was annoying.

First season I lost interest. Interesting story, and I love finding answers to these internet mysteries, but the nostalgic method of telling just didn’t hold my attention. Second season was more interesting, but what is up with the repetitive clips? For example, in episode 6, Nicky says the...Read full review »

So you go through 7 episodes where the purpose was purportedly to uncover something substantive about the person or persons behind Cicada 3301 and the puzzles. You fail and then try to gaslight the audience into believing this is really all about leaning into not knowing. What a complete waste of...Read full review »

Cicada really should’ve just been done in 3 episodes. The story didn’t go anywhere.

I quite enjoyed this podcast but the audio wasn’t easy to listen to. When the two hosts are talking to each other one is quite loud and seems to be near the mic and the other seems to be across the room and I could barely hear them. It’s a shame because it shifted my focus off what they were...Read full review »

Skip this one. Not bad quality, but slow. They tease finding the originator of the hijacked signal but it turns out it’s a terrible psychic who “channels” the figure Vrillon, but obviously doesn’t know anything revealing. A cheap trick to keep you listening.

If I hear the word “like” one more time! Episodes 6 and 7 was like, well it was kind of like, you know like …awful!!
Gunit8416 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/27/24
an interesting set up and back story, but doesn’t really go anywhere, probably could of been told in 3 episodes, basically there is nothing added to the story.

shame really

I listened half the first episode. It was over dramatized and repetitive. Next.

I am a huge fan of the Hochelaga Youtube channel. I thoroughly enjoyed the first series on The Interruption, but I was less impressed with The Archive series. The swapping back and forth between hosts was distracting, and the audio quality at times was less than stellar. When the host were...Read full review »

I just randomly ran across a link to this podcast in Reddit and decided to give it a try. I wasn’t expecting something this engrossing and good! Tommie’s narration is sparkling clean and easy to listen to, and the way he builds the story kept me engaged long past the 5 minute trial period I had...Read full review »

Such a nice fun and odd tale. Great production quality and presence from the host and they kept it interesting. Well edited and compact story that keeps you interested through the end. Grab this for a weekend binge or in your rotation.

I’m so accustomed to sort of over-the-top mystery podcasts that this one sneaked in and fully captured me. I enjoyed the host’s enthusiasm and wonder. Great, rather heartwarming conclusion, too. I hope there’s another season with a new mystery.

An intriguing question - investigated with more vigor and fervor than I expected - making it an enjoyable trip down the rabbit hole. The host was interesting, amusing, and very enjoyable to listen to. And, frankly unexpectedly, the exploration came to a very satisfying conclusion. I wish there...Read full review »

The amount of unnecessary, sometimes irritatingly self-aggrandising, waffle makes this a struggle to get through at times. ‘I’m not following a map, I’m *writing* it’? Barf. This is good, but about 3 episodes too long. Sometimes it’s ok to do things concisely, and not stretch things out with repetition - of which there is much here. The host is engaging though, so hopefully will investigate more - but with heavier editing.

Well, had a strong interesting start, but the end wasn’t as good. I actually tuned out a few times over the last episodes, had to rewind, wish it was more consistent. But good first effort, it’s a different way to tell a story, not as succinct as the videos are, so hope they try again. Oh, very...Read full review »

Absolutely brilliant storytelling and a satisfying conclusion. Love the host - please do another series on a different mystery

Well researched and thorough but like a lot of podcasts, there’s a simple story that gets stretched out for the equivalent of 3-4hours. Nothing wrong in keeping it succinct 🙏🏻

Well, I'd never heard of the incident but it was intriguing enough to grab my attention. The story is told well, a little tongue-in-cheek at times as is warranted, and is wrapped up nicely in the end. However, one tiny point, despite accepting the conclusion which is still convincing enough,...Read full review »

This pod starts off pretty interesting giving the unique and high-ish stakes situation. The problem is that the way the case is “solved” is by someone joining a Facebook group where members had openly talked about who was responsible for it. Clearly that’s not going to fill 8 episodes so the...Read full review »
