Keeping Marriage Simple | Avoid Too Much Complexity

Description
In this episode we’re talking all about how to keep marriage simple. Inspiration for this episode is the fact that we have our 12th wedding anniversary this week. We are very busy people with our own dreams, goals, and aspirations, and we realized that if we try to come up with something too complicated, things just become too hard and it ends up making things worse. So we were trying to figure out something nice to do for our anniversary, but then decided it would be better to just do something more simple and just go to dinner on Thursday, our typical date night of the week, and then we’re gonna go out as a family on Saturday to celebrate with everyone. Why we can’t make things too complicated 2:50Making life more complicated than it needs to be 8:30Sometimes we think our spouse’s needs are way more complex than they are 12:50Triggers can cause complex circumstances 16:55 “You’re getting to know each other, so you come up with these complex rationalizations as to why someone’s doing something. Man they’re just doing it because they just did it, you know? It’s not like some 15 move chess game that they’re going through in their head. We go through this junk in our head and it’s just Rosie being Rosie.” 10:07 https://www.facebook.com/theirishmummy/ https://www.instagram.com/the_irish_mummy/ Pick up a copy of Journal to Joy.
