Nitzavim/Vayelech
Deuteronomy 29:10 – 31:30
Who Could Stand?
The portion we are about to read follows the warnings in Deuteronomy 28 & 29. It's understandable that the people would be alarmed, so Moses reassured them that, despite their sin, they were still standing before the LORD. The previous punishments were meant to restore them, not destroy them. Sadly, repentance is often only provoked by punishment. Repentance allows us to continue standing before Him.
