The rental of safety deposit boxes at banks and locks on filing cabinets at the office are clear indications that much premium has always been placed on data privacy. And it is not just businesses that need to be concerned about it. Individuals too have much at stake to protect themselves from the risks that can arise when they are breaches. With the onset of the pandemic which has seen a migration of the world to the online space, it has become even more critical for us to be intentional when conducting business particularly in the online space. In 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), came into full effect after being adopted in 2016. But exactly what is it and what does it do? We will find out this and more in this episode where I have invited Chukwuemeka Cameron, Podcaster/Attorney-at-Law/Founder, Design Privacy to share with.
Some of what we looked at were:
The components involved in data privacy
Law, policies and contractual obligations require as it relates to data privacy
Tips on protecting data
And lots more.
