The West has tried to alter our psyche, to make us believe that Africa is uncivilized and should not be desired. The truth has been discovered. For some of us, we have long known that this was far from being a fact. While for others still, the time has come for us to reclaim what has been robbed from us, that is our longing for identity and a sense of connection to the Motherland. What better way to establish such a connection than through wealth building. Let's contemplate how the capital markets in the Caribbean and the continent of Africa might work together to create wealth for its people. We've invited Ekow Alfedzie, Managing Director, Ghana Stock Exchange, to engage us about what is happening in the Ghanian Market and how we might work together to achieve even greater success.
Some of what we looked at were:
How many listings are on the Ghana Stock Exchange?
Types of listed companies on the Ghana Stock Exchange?
How can Jamaicans or other Caribbean Nationals participate on the Ghanian Stock Exchange?
What would a collaboration between the Jamaica Stock Exchange and the Ghana Stock Exchange look like?
And lots more.
