Great story - couldn’t listen to host
This story was so beautifully researched and timely. The host is clearly a fantastic journalist, but her voice was grating after seconds. I’m an academic linguist, I know there’s a sexist attitude to speech affects that are predominantly used by women. This is NOT the reason her voice was irritating to your listeners. It was her cadence, modulation and vocal fry all working together that made every sentence monotonous - tortured, even. Sorry - but I agree with the other reviewers: nails on a chalk board (and I’d say it about a male narrator with the same issues too!)

You will note a review indicating narrration is an issue. If you don’t want to hear female journalists report their stories in their own words…. The I guess don’t listen. Big eye roll. These comments about narration reek of sexism. Her narration and content is great.

Grateful for the work of the young lawyer. And this podcast to keep shining light on that depraved judge, who has escaped accountability. Blood boiling what was done to the kids.

Amazing story and reporting. I love your narrating ad well. I think it’s very strange that there are a few reviews complaining about vocal fry because I didn’t notice it and really was enjoying it. When is the next episode?
