Great (Untold) Lessons In Caribbean Culture
I really enjoyed this podcast. I loved learning about the Gangsta rebel slaves and can fully understand why it was they behaved in the way they did. It was also interesting that you didn’t omit the fact that slaves were also kept, as well as sold, by Black people. Although it was a tiny fraction of the scale of the human trafficking perpetrated by the Britain and the Europeans, it seems that some tribal leaders were in league with them, selling captives of tribal war and it was right that we should know everything. As this is your first episode, and I look forward to listening to subsequent episodes in the coming months, I would like to offer up that, although your very natural delivery was wonderful, but, it would have been lovely to hear a lot more from your guest and the knowledge he might have had on the viewpoint of the families whose people were taken. He seemed very knowledgable and I figured that he had a lot more to offer, but there was only so much time. Well done to you, Ms Fiona. I’ve ‘saved’ your podcast now, as one of my favourites, and have been sharing it with friends, so am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

So happy to hear about the Caribbean. Being first generation American my mom didn’t know her own history or knowledge of her home land but I am so loving the podcast. It helps me to discover who I am as a person and the beautiful culture of the islands
