“I didn’t know what to expect when I started listening to the first episode (well, episode 2) of this podcast—I assumed it was going to be a fairly straightforward account of French history, which sounded good to me. Instead, I was so happy to find that not only had I never heard this side of the history of the Bastille, but that her storytelling is such that I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire episode (I even ended up driving around in circles so that I could hear the end of the story). I know a lot about French history, but if this first episode is any indication, The Land of Desire is going to a be a wild ride of new information and excellent story telling. Can’t wait for more!”
