Why resistance training is so important during midlife and menopause, with Kate Oakley
Description
Why is resistance training so important as we age, and how can we fit it into our busy lives?
In today's episode, I’m talking to personal trainer Kate Oakley, about how we can increase strength and protect our bones and joints and midlife, as well as finding ways to fit it into our day. Even if you only have five minutes to spare, we'll find out how the right kind of training can do more than just help you get through the challenges that come with menopause, but also be empowering and totally change your outlook on life.
Kate Oakley is the founder of Your Future Fit. She's always loved fitness and training, but it was a passion. She only turned into a career at the age of 50, after a 25 year career in HR, to help peri and postmenopausal women who are going through similar challenges to her. As a fully qualified personal trainer, Kate focuses on encouraging women to start with small habit changes to their exercise, gradually building up the consistency that is sustainable for the future.
