Description
Your pelvic floor is an incredibly important part of the body that very often doesn't get the attention it deserves. Incontinence, painful sex and constipation are all embarrassing symptoms of a weak pelvic floor. But on occasion, poor pelvic floor health can result in more serious issues such as prolapse. All of these issues are extremely common, particularly after pregnancy and childbirth. And they're absolutely treatable, but aren't openly discussed often enough. And many women suffer unnecessarily in silence rather than seek help. So I'm delighted to be able to speak today to author pelvic floor specialist and creator of the ABS system Kim Vopni.  Kim Vopni is a speaker and women's health educator known as the Vagina Coach. She is a certified fitness professional who became passionate about spreading information on pelvic health when she was pregnant with her first child.  In this episode 01:32 What is pelvic floor prolapse? 6:24 How hormones affect your pelvic floor 10:22 Pelvic floor exercise 16:50 Pelvic floor therapy 20:59 When is surgery the answer? 25:05 Working with a pelvic health physiotherapist About The Latte Lounge: This episode of the Latte Lounge podcast was presented by Katie Taylor from The Latte Lounge: https://www.lattelounge.co.uk/  We help women over 40 navigate perimenopause, menopause and midlife with confidence!
