Great. Needs More Original Content.
This is a great podcast and an excellent source for information on a variety of national security issues and the legal concepts that surround them (or get trampled by them, depending on your view of the world). If I had to knock it, I’d have to say that recently it has moved to posting more audio from Brookings events rather than one-on-one interviews and discussions with contributors which used to make up a significant portion of the content. It can sometimes feel more like a “If you’re a Lawfare reader, you’ll probably think this event on a related subject is interesting” podcast rather than a “Lawfare Podcast”. The events *are* interesting, but I’d love to see more shows on the issues that get posted every day on the site. How about a podcast on Ahmed Abu Khattala and the issues surrounding his arrest, detention, the public safety exception, the choice of venue, etc.? How about a podcast on the Riley v. California decision? Even if it’s just bringing a contributor on to talk about an article they wrote that week, it’d be a step in the right direction. Being duplicative of written content on the site is okay — I’m sure not everyone gets to every one of the dozens of articles Lawfare publishes each week. In sum, this podcast is great and I genuinely enjoy most if not every episode. But the written content on the site and depth of the contributor bench makes you think it could be even better.

In this time of general confusion, it's useful, if not necessary, to hear legal opinions on current issues. I appreciate the podcast, please keep it up.Read full review »

I've only been listening for about a month, but I'm already finding Lawfare to be a valuable resource that explains the underlying detail behind the political headlines. Lawfare helps me separate the signal from the noise.Read full review »
