“I was eager to listen to this podcast from the moment I learned about it. Their posts are always wonderful, and I assumed that this program would be amazing. Unfortunately, the execution does not live up to its potential. After trying several episodes, my qualms with the first were not resolved. In addition to the hostess's tone, which rarely seems to reflect the topics discussed (e.g. discussing a baby born with no heartbeat with the same jovial inflection that she used to detail her morning smoothie), the overuse of the theme song is jarring. The chorus, which is admittedly catchy, is played between each segment. I imagine this decision was made to differentiate topics, but a simple instrumental song would be less aggravating. I would love if these issues were resolved because I think the idea is wonderful.”Read full review »
