The Best 5e Podcast Around?: IGWATFO
Three heroes begin their journey where any good DM would put them... in jail! The cast of this show is incredible! Each player has a unique and easily distinguishable character voice, which I know some people struggle with when listening to Podcasts. The players are so connected with their characters that every single scene feels natural. They characters tease one another, they joke around, they help each other, and no matter what the paladin says, they care about each other. Not only are the RPs brilliant, but the music is absolutely awe-inspiring. The music is made by Neil (who plays Rhal'Jakk), and is perfectly in tune with the narrative moments and the overall feel of the campaign. He does a masterful job of weaving songs in and out of scenes, creating beautiful ambiance that shakes listeners to their core. I know I've teared up at a few scenes and so have a few friends. The DM also is fantastic. Volonda gives all the players a chance to shine, but doesn't hesitate to make sure they pay for mistakes. Even cooking can be quite the experience if you aren't lucky enough! In addition, she has woven a fantastic tale, that in a few episodes caught my attention and kept me hooked! I look forward to Mondays because of this podcast. Every new episode is a thrill! The pod doesn't focus heavily on combat which I love. They really focus on the PCs as characters rather than damage output machines and it's terrific. If you are looking for a show that takes ordinary characters and shows their growth, this is the podcast for you!! P.S. IGWATFO = I guess we're about to find out!Read full review »

Balance has such an incredible backstory and it is so fun watching the characters grow over time. One question I have is how do you deal with naming your NPC’s? One DM to the other.

I’m on eps. 105 and let me tell you it’s top notch podcasting. I enjoy this balance of humour and seriousness. It’s not heavy like CR, it’s not goofball like NADDPod, less bickering than TAZ it’s just wonderful. Don’t get me wrong those are all awesome podcasts that I enjoy as well but I do...Read full review »
