“So many evangelical claims to love and live by God's word, but honestly they don't. Pastor Mark is one of them. He twists Scripture to comport with his own ideaology. Mark Driscoll says Jesus came into the world as a man because men are the most powerful, awesome things in the world. No! Becoming a man was a humbling thing for Jesus. And he came as a servant, not as some macho-muscular dude. What an arrogant thing for him to say!
I wonder just what Jesus, Paul, Peter, or any other early Christian would say about these sermons.
Mark's teachings are toxic, but if you want to continue listening to him, test whatever he says with the rest of Scripture and you'll realize that instead of using Scripture to shape his opinion, his opinion is shaping Scripture. A real man will think for himself, so be a real man, or woman, and really think about what pastors are teaching you. Really, let go of your existing world view and give yourself permission to question the things you're being taught.”Read full review »
