Jared Roork started considering his marketing career when he was in high school. Then through trial-and-error with a few classes and courses in college, he found strategy and planning as a marketing career path that was a passion for him. That focus led him to some selective networking experiences that opened exploratory conversations with several hiring managers. After a few internships, Jared was able to turn his experiences into a stellar Linkedin profile, that gained the attention by several large, global ad agencies, and turned into a full time marketing role in media planning. In a little over a year after graduating college, he has worked at two leading global agencies - Havas Media Group, and is currently working at Media Futures Group as a media planner. In this episode, Jared shares specific tips for any current high school or college undergrad seeking to launch their career in marketing - as well as - anyone wondering if an agency would be a good first place to start your marketing career.
