“After years of 100% stock investing, I began looking for better strategies several years ago. I started with taking the Robert Shiller's Financial Markets course on Open Yale which introduced me to efficient portfolio frontier. David Swenson was a guest, leading me to study his background and portfolio. And finally I came across The Ivy Portfolio. Since then I've read all your white papers including your recently release Trinity Portfolio. I'm a numbers guy and appreciate the data-based back testing of various strategies. The podcast are great to gain greater depth of understanding on investment strategy.
I have several questions for you:
1) For short term investigating (2 to 5 years out) looking for modest gains with near zero draw down risk, do you have advice on a less risky portfolio.
2) Until a few years ago, my 401K portfolio choices were limited to stocks, bonds and cash. Since then my employer has added a Brokeragelink option for 50% of the portfolio allowing investment in additional asset classes. In my case where 50% of the portfolio is limited to stocks, bonds and cash it's a challenge to implement the Ivy portfolio with a rotation system. My risk tolerance is to pursue the IVY portfolio with trend and rotation. Or in your Trinity Portfolio, I would prefer to follow the Global Trend. Do you have any advice for this 50/50 portfolio scenario?”Read full review »

As a retail investor, investing is a hobby for me like sports might be for others, and MF...”Read full review »
