Wonderful podcast thank you ladies for making us think. Standing transfers in skin to skin, a game changer. The partner can do this from the start, Mums may need to be evaluated as to their ability to move some will be better than others.

Thank you Katie and Rachel for the wealth of information you’ve shared on this podcast. I’ve become a complete birth nerd since having my second son 14m ago and you’ve been in my ears for much of that time, so much so, that I’ve just enrolled myself to become a Doula. After 18 years as a midwife in large California HMO, I have reached a new level of dissatisfaction with the status quo of maternity care in the US. This podcast not only names the many areas of moral injury for midwives but it does it in a kind, funny and compassionate way. We are going to use...Read full review »

We are currently listening to S1E5 and we reached the part about women being unable to birth in water in some place, with some places even not allowing women in the shower. You are changing the lives of women and their babies with this podcast. Filled with wisdom and reminding women just how powerful they are. Reclaiming birth as ours - it does not belong to the patriarchy or the medical system. Thank you Rachel and Katie. You are both the women we need now.

They’re mainly talking to midwives and other birth/lactation professionals but the ‘golden nuggets’ of research-based insight into how women’s bodies birth and lactate are actually for anyone who has ever or will ever have anything to do with birth (so, everyone). It’s often very funny as well.

Some bits are ok but it gets so dramatic and depressing constantly pointing out what’s wrong with the system. Not everyone thinks all these negative things about births. This is not educational this is one big rant between midwives. Giving up on this show!
