“I used to listen to like, 7 different games/games news related podcasts each week, but when I cut back my on my podcast listening diet MinnMax was one of the two shows in the genre that I kept around.
MinnMax is current and covers news on AAA and indie stuff fairly equally, but also doesn't mind taking a step back every so often and reflecting on titles from the past. It's a show that truly cares about games and the devs first and foremost, with corporate industry stuff showing up when relevant but never becoming the key focus. The personalities are wonderful, discourse is insightful, and tone is light hearted. It's not a show that's going to change your perspective on the world, but sometimes you need a break from that in your weekly podcast feed, and MinnMax always delivers a nice, down to earth, laidback discussion.
for disclosure, they offer raffles for game codes from reviews on occasion, which i'm including my discord for, but the sentiments held in this review are honest and unchanged by this fact.
