Love it. Investigative journalism with a Louis Theroux wry smile. Comprehensively researched. My thoughts, although worth the same as OneCoin, are with people who got scammed. Raising awareness in this way is a good thing.

Thrilling and eerie. Fantastic production

Should be all over in 2 episodes

It’s a good story, but the dramatic editing, layered vocal effects and the music make this difficult to listen to. I understand the music is composed specifically for this podcast...which surprised me because it’s repetitive, jarring and the editor has put it in far too loudly. Instead of being a...Read full review »

Love this story, find the music way too loud and too frequent though. Detracts from the excellent journalism and otherwise great production.

Good on you guys for taking this up. Towards the end of ‘18 I was contacted by a friend who was an IMA. Wanted me to join. Had all the same selling points as you guys mentioned in the podcast. I thought it through, did my own research and found a lot of stuff online that convinced me to not...Read full review »

Great and intriguing story which will make a great movie when the story ends. Loved it and hope she gets caught and loses everything

I enjoyed listening to this podcast. It showed just the right amount of emotion, not over the top. Listening to this left you asking more questions therefore eager to listen to the next episode. The music is fine although I think it was played too much. I don’t read newspapers but I do wonder why...Read full review »

The music gave me spine tingles! Brilliant production and a story so good you can’t believe this is actually happening ... but it is My only down side is there isn’t more episodes after 8! I want to know more!

This was a great listen! I loved the music (though as a Bulgarian, I’m biased) but agree they could have used the choir chant less frequently. Can’t wait to hear more and hope they put both Ruja and her entire family of grifters in jail for a long, long time! Stories like this make me mad and sad...Read full review »

I get that they are using this music because of where Ruja is from but at times its so loud and unnecessary - it makes it very hard to concentrate at times and off-putting.

I hope there will be updates, everything so far has been engrossing.

Don’t tell me that episode 8 is the end! It sounds like it can’t be the end. Keep searching and reporting your findings!

Great story, well researched and expertly delivered. I was drawn here after reading a BBC article last year.

Riveting story but ends somewhat unsatisfactorily and incomplete.

Great podcast, ‘binge-listened’ the whole thing. Frightening to see how clever and nasty these people are but at the sametime how gullible others are. Shame the story isn’t quite finished. Music very nice but after 8 instalments the wailing ‘dead can dance’ like score does become a bit boring

Great piece of journalism: important, gripping, determined. Cannot wait for a second series!

Yes this is a story worth investigating and telling and much praise is due to dogged journalism here. But the let down is a production style that wants too many cliff hangers (most of which are really not cliff hangers at all) and is content to talk to the audience as if they were 5 year olds...Read full review »

Great storytelling & acutely interesting topic. Would improve the whole thing x100 if the (talented) reporter would halt the over dramatic, over emphatic narrative tone - that feels super patronizing to the listener.

I have been listening to podcasts every day for as long as I can remember and this one has the worst music. I am a huge fan of the BBC's 13 minutes to the Moon, Hans Zimmer has truly spoiled all of us but this is borderline nightmare fuel music every 15 minutes. Beware.Read full review »

I didn’t not enjoy it but agree with other reviewers that it lacked depth in places and over exploited other investigations a little too much for comfort. I love everything about this podcast. His voice, the music, the strange story. You can tell that they invested a lot of time to make a great podcast! Can’t wait till the next episode which will hopefully come soon

Great research, well presented and a fascinating (sadly also a true) story. Thoroughly enjoyed it, recommended.
Shouldn't be this hard. ... via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/15/20
Far too much time wasted by repeating the same premise told in all prior episodes, at the beginning of the following podcast ... Painful and irritating 😠

But definitely stretched over 8 episodes. Not enough content, and can be very dramatic at parts - makes it hard to listen to

I did enjoy listening to this story, but have to agree that the music was incredibly annoying and sounded like filler after awhile. If there is another season, please don’t keep replaying the irritating chanting and wailing sounds! The producers could have been more aware of repetition ( was it...Read full review »

The story is fascinating but suffers from the faux suspense and overly dramatic story telling. Couldn’t get past ep 2.

Excellent podcast. The Crypto Queen will be burning in hell for what she has done to these poor people, especially the one in under developed nations. Manic sound design and a posturing presenter masquerading as an investigative journalist - very poor. Every episode stretches about 10minutes of material over 30minutes interspersed with random commentaries from people who were duped. Sad. This is a great podcast. The content is so riveting that I continued to listen even though there are a ton of hard-to-hear and rambling interviews.
CKH225 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/23/20
An amazing piece of journalism and one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to. A modern day parable of fraud, greed and human fallacy. The interviews with the victims in Africa was heart breaking.

Meh
This podcast had a lot potential however failed t deliver. They repeated a lot of info multiple times and honestly felt like they didn’t even try that hard. Easily one of the best podcast series of 2019. So captivating that I finished the entire series in less than 24 hours. It’s a must listen!
Gran0480 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/21/20
This was a good podcast, edited well. My problem is with the leads the host chose to follow and the assumptions he chose to make. I would talk to someone with either little knowledge or a vested interest who would tell him something spurious that he would turn into a tent pole of the investigation.

No doubt the story is very interesting and captivating, yet the delivery is so repetitive and slow. The audio quality is very inconsistent and makes it hard to listen. Sounds like it was made by an amateur.

Not sure where to start. Just WOW. Audio is a perfect medium for this story. No visual influence. It’s unsettling, reveals so much about people, about success, about deception.....and different angles and possibilities keep appearing. The music is absolutely phenomenal.
