Great podcast, got reservations about the music
Absolutely fascinating & fabulous investigative journalism. However from the perspective of someone who’s written music for documentaries the only negative part of this podcast is the use of music, even though the showcase piece is haunting, using this particular piece / artist over & over again feels rather jarring & feel incongruous against the laid back narration style & too distracting played over interviews. The other background music is well written but can feel a little one dimensional so the Eastern European vocal sounds even more jarring when it’s played . . . I guess the idea is that it’s Dr Raja’s theme but it feels like it would be more atmospheric used more sparingly as intro music. Definitely not music to be played at the same time as speech because the two fight against each other & surely will put some listeners on edge. Otherwise gripping, excellent podcast.

Love this podcast, could do without the music in the background in parts but the story is absolutely fascinating

Hope this becomes a future of investigative journalism: comprehensive, thorough, edge-of-the-seat gripping; objective yet personal, dramatic within reigns, and without any over-prolonged scenes or unnecessary moments of dull. Great stuff that convinced me to give Podcasts and BBC Sounds a try,...Read full review »
