As a 35yr old with a young family - this podcast provides a great soundboard for decision making. Thank you for the great conversation! Even my wife who has been out of the corporate world 7 years enjoys the show and finds it mentally stimulating

Love the show and content but how annoying are the ladies chatting in the background

I was annoyed to hear James Thomson, columnist for the Financial Review, state that Kamala Harris does not have any policies. This is incorrect and misleading - deliberately or through ignorance, I’m not sure. Either James is expressing a partisan political view or he has not done enough...Read full review »

Alan is of genuine human empathy for those less fortunate in our society. And Stephen is a tireless champion for the average investor. Many thanks guys!

Alan thinks Keating and Chalmers are the best treasures in history, you need a stiff drink Al.

I’m so glad I found this podcast channel. Intelligent market and investor discussion with some lighthearted humour along the way. I’d welcome more content/more frequent releases of new episodes

Podcast is better without Coca-Cola Would improve without AK’s never ending political views

Tremendous catch up on everything finance in Australia. Keep up the terrific work 🙏

I had to agree with Stephen and Allan on the hybrid debacle. It was a blessing as I opened an online broking account in my SMSF and bought 400 Westpac hybrids and gave the finger to my full service broker who wanted to charge me a fee to be client and have the ability to purchase these hybrids...Read full review »

Over the Xmas break, I watched again as my share portfolio steadily increased from mid December through until the first-second week of January. Something I’ve seen over a number of summer holidays. Is this as simple as all the Australian retail investors & brokers being on holiday? With then...Read full review »

Thank you for sharing your expertise. How does one ask a question on your show?

Evening Allan and James. Well I am an Aussie traveling in Italy and decided to listen to my fav podcast as I was catching up with washing. So the first thing I heard Alan say was how good the trains where in Italy and this was straight after I took my first ever train in Italy from Salerno to...Read full review »

Annoying when it skips a week without explanation, which happens regularly.

Love the show, always informative and entertaining

I like the way these 2/3 present the issues and can have that rarest of things, a difference of opinion, which is politely elucidated ! Particularly like Stephen’s focus on the often ignored underpinnings of business including board incentives and pokies…keep it up !

This used to be a great podcast but, sadly no more. James Thompson is very good, however Alan as host often seems very unprepared and regularly waffles on endlessly about Modern Monetary Theory. Then Stephen tells us all about the City of Manningham, his huge list of minuscule share holdings, all...Read full review »

Alan is fine, however his co-host constantly chimes in with Left Wing commentary belittling any individual of whom he doesn’t agree with their politics. Not sure how this relates to ‘money’ or ‘finance’. He’s ofcourse too arrogant to accept this fact and will scoff at this review. Off to listen...Read full review »

Great podcast for a considered discussion on current investment topics. Historic context and references are always helpful. Worth a listen good questions from listeners.

If you want to listen to Stephen Mayne list his shareholdings for an hour, and tell you how many AGMs he attends, this is the podcast for you. If you want to learn about finance you will not enjoy this. No problem cannot be solved by increasing taxes or rates, or printing money. Liberal bad,...Read full review »

Alan’s consistent left of centre political comment is tiresome for someone who has done so well fattening their wallet via an abc salary over many years. His anti Murdoch slant laughable for one who got rich via selling a newsletter to Rupert. This weeks effort on muting Angus Taylor and muzzling...Read full review »

We’ll done AK on refreshing the new money cafe- I enjoy Stephen, James, Evan and yourself!! Insightful and you articulate the key issues very well.

It’s a fun weekly look at money markets and money issues in Australia. Alan Kohler is charming and engaging and his co-hosts are great also (Stephen Mayne is the best part of this podcast!). I would give it 5 stars if Alan bothered to prepare - he doesn’t seem to have read any of the questions ...Read full review »

Essential listening for those interested in finance and investing as well as being generally informative.

It is refreshing to hear comments from informed presenters who aren’t puppeteers feed party line scripts. Love the ACDC humour and my favourite rock band song is “it’s a long way to the top if you want to rock N roll”. Full disclosure I own the ETF shares in ACDC!

I was really enjoyed this but when is Alan coming back?

I really enjoyed the OG Money Café, but this version is equally as informative/ entertaining. With 2 x MC there is twice as much content to listen to!

Must admit I did like it when James and Alan was together but since I think I give this Pod the nod over Kirby with a better line up if guests

Intelligent and engaging. Malcolm Turnbull always brings a wealth of intelligence to any subject. What a disappointment that great cutting edge minds like Turnbull ( and Rudd) are not involved in policy development.

Great guests & Alan Kohler is a gem
joshtorrisi via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/16/21
I do like Kirby so I was dismayed to see that the Cafe had split. But being free of the Murdoch yoke is worth it - Alan is great on his own. The Turnbull episode was a cracker!
