A good podcast that could be great
The Trailers From Hell website has a distinct format where filmmakers record commentary tracks on trailers for other people's movies (and sometimes their own movies.) Josh Olson is one of the best contributors, he knows how to write a monologue. But he's not a strong host, in a number of episodes he's interrupted his guests, stepped on their anecdote, even blurted out the punchline to one of guest's joke. The podcast gets good guests, but the host is relying on the guest to do the heavy lifting. I'll echo another comment, that Joe Dante and Josh Olson don't speak directly into the mic, so it's difficult to hear what they're saying. I'm sure the podcast will improve over time. The hosts are knowledgeable, funny and insightful. But they don't seem to make the effort that other podcast hosts do.Read full review »

Guests can be hit or miss but there's always interesting ancedotes from Joe. Josh should probably try a little harder with his hosting. Sometimes he comes off as being completely uninterested improving. It might help if you guys actually wear headphones because you are doing a podcast and Joe...Read full review »
