Mike compared to Eric’s versions… so far
I started listening to Mike doing this maybe 16-20 months ago. I listened to quite a few & was definitely moved by them. Tho’ I knew it unlikely I‘d ever be in a situation to offer any help by way of tips or solutions. True crime podcasts seldom focus in my geographical area, for one. And I’ve never lived in a high crime area — in those minor ways at least I’ve been lucky. Listening to the trauma of the real life people in this podcast has been a gift to me as much as a challenge. So I did have to stop listening for a while — 6-9 months maybe. And I suppose that gave me compassion rather than judgment for Mike’s vocal presence — along with HATING the sound of my own voice at first it was answering machines back in the day, then moved onto voicemails, etc. — Any place where I could actually hear the 8/10 year old girl sounding voice that came back at me even when I was 20, 35, 40-something, etc… until for some reason it just changed in my 50’s…. I certainly hope no one would spout the kind of vitriol at me that people seem SO COMFORT-ABLY to do in negative reviews about Mike’s VOICE as if he could just alter some key element in his voice to suddenly & miraculously make it pleasant to all his detractors all at once for this imaginary next episode. I say this because I don’t believe saying you don’t like a personal trait about someone is “fair game” when writing a review. If your opinion/judgment can’t be supported by facts found in the substance of matter. Your opinion or judgment is no more than Hot Air. It has nothing to hold it up! It is only BLUSTER and nothing more than unsubstantiated opinion. The question then becomes are you wise enough on the subject that your opinion should be considered … significant or important OR merely irrelevant? I have been a supporter of Eric Carter-Landin. And I’ll admit I liked his personality probably before I got fully emotionally invested in True Consequences. About the time I did get fully caught up with ALL his episodes on that podcast it was just after he got the TERRIBLE news that the Law WAS BLOWING OFF HIS MOM & HIM AGAIN over the MURDER OF HIS LITTLE BROTHER. And since then even tho’ I’m a PAYING supporter NOT ONE NEW EPI-SODE’s been released since then! ☹️🤬 But he might’ve made a 2/3 minute Trailer saying I’m stopping/pausing True Conse-quences now; so come on check out where I’ve landed: Murder In My Family…. In fact, I was rather shocked it wasn’t done as a courtesy to his devoted Listeners. Finally it does *seem* like there *may* be some valid points for criticism about the show turning to a NM bent & away from a full US scope. I haven’t gone back & counted NM episodes vs non-NM episodes since he’s taken over. But it WOULD BE A TRAGEDY in IT’S own rite.

The host needs to take a breath and stop reading entire script as one sentence. Slow down! Take a public speaking lesson!

I’m really excited about this podcast! I love Morf and all of the incredible work he does! This is such a touchy area (victim’s families) but if anyone can cover it with the respect and delicacy that it deserves; it’s Morf! I can’t wait to listen! -Heather (Nature vs Narcissism Podcast)

Most families like to talk about loved ones who are gone. This podcast gives a forum for that. Mike does his research for each episode and asks questions that are knowledgable and compassionate.
