“I have now listened to every single New Yorker Radio Hour, and its predecessor, the New Yorker Out Loud, going back to 2008 in the archives (I think in one of the 2008 ones covering that year's presidential election), someone proposed that if things kept going as they were going, we would eventually see a Trump candidacy. Talk about foresight!).
This podcast is consistently riveting, rivaled only by the New Yorker Fiction Podcast hosted by Deborah Treisman (I have listened to every single one of those as well). The interviews, insights, and the topics covered in these podcasts are exceptional. The conversations negotiate between content that is extremely intricate in expertise, and content that is simply enjoyable. I look forward to this every week, and I recommend the podcast to everyone I know. I wish I hadn't gone through all the episodes in the archives as quickly as I did, as now I have to wait a week to listen to the next ones!
The New Yorker possesses the best writing, thinking, and overall journalism in existence. As an academic, it is so wonderful to see this level of incisive thinking and intellectual approach in a mainstream forum, in language, form, and content that both pitches high and is at the same time entirely accessible. The podcast is a great supplement to the magazine, to which I also subscribe. It's wonderful to get additional insight on the essays published in the issues. Thank you, New Yorker!”Read full review »

And with the old format (two weekly podcasts each devoted to a single topic), I got more of what I wanted. With the new format, it's difficult to pick out what I want...”Read full review »
