Ingrained Misogyny
I think it’s completely unfair how the biological mother ‘Anne’ was vilified by the presenter for giving Janine up for adoption and not actively pursuing contact with her. She is completely within her right to do so and I’m frankly very glad that she accepted the interview and we got a to hear her side of the story, otherwise production would have continued making her out as this terrible Woman/Mother. Would this have been the same if it were a Dad that Janine had no contact with? Absolutely not! ‘Anne’ clearly had a lot of trauma in her life at the time (husband left HER with a child, domestic violence, sibling suicide, etc) so I hope the presenter takes a long look at himself and how easy he has it before he judges and asks loaded questions to any other Mother like this again.

More reviews of The Night Driver
Poor audio quality when it comes to interviews, not what I expected from what is usually impeccable Thomas / the Australian. I only listen to first episode as I don’t pay for podcasts.

Hedley’s done it again! It’s worth a subscription to The Australian just for this podcast! Very professionally produced and his trademark respect of people shines through. Well done...can’t wait for the next episode.

Terrible interview audio, terrible journalism, a podcast about rumours. Sensationalist.
