Absolutely fantastic
Tracing the story of Younes and Farid Dardashti’s lives moving from Iran to Israel and the United States is fascinating enough as the history of an individual family. What makes it even more riveting, however, is the way that their family history reveals an astonishing amount about culture, religion and geopolitics from the 1950s to the present. The Dardashti sisters, Danielle and Galeet, are the perfect people to tell this story. The podcast allows them to compellingly combine their respective areas of expertise—Danielle in broadcasting, and Galeet in anthropology and music. And without giving up too many spoilers, the source material upon which they base their storytelling is shockingly rich and extensive.

I haven’t been this taken by a podcast since Serial back in 2013-ish. The story is so absorbing and the characters are incredibly lovable. Thank you to Danielle and Galeet for sharing their specific yet relatable family story.
