I wish millions of Palestinians and other Muslims would listen to this series! Another world, a charming, poetic Jewish cosmos but permeated with pathos and danger. I am Gentile, and though I traveled to Iran in my youth, only just barely sensed this world existed.

Thank you for sharing your family stories. This is magical and captivating! I love hearing the Persian accents. When I was a little girl in the 70s in Jerusalem we lived next to a Persian family that we adored. This podcast brings back nice memories.

I loved this as a Greek American from the west coast Ive known PErsian Jews, mostly in California. IT left me wanting more detail, especially about the grandfather Younes: what had he gone through: childhood : etc. You touched on it but didnt delve into it! Thanks

Small-town, Mid-Western gentile by birth, world citizen by curiosity. This has immediately become my favourite podcast to-date. I love this family - both sides, all generations. Perhaps your parents should educate you that it’s Farsi or Iranian. I don’t think it’s been called Persian for 1000 years and you’re miseducated everybody.
