A Beautiful Bus Ride
I tell ya, I could listen to this program all day. I think I like it most while I'm washing dishes. Scrubbing a little cereal dried on the rim of a bowl, you know? What? $1.75? Has the price gone up? Well, I only have $1.50. Look, I'm only trying to ride for the sights. I just want to look out the window and listen to my program. I think it would really make my afternoon something special, you know? You can drop me back off here when you're done, that way it's like I never got on in the first place. Well, no, I don't have another quarter. All I've got is this $2 bill. You ever see a $2 bill before? Can you belive it? It's a strange little thing. Look at this. It's as real as you or me. See, I went down to the pharmacy for some cranberry juice and I gave the boy a $5 bill. Well, for my change, can you belive he gave me this? And now you expect me to just give it to you? For a bus ride where I'm not even going anywhere? I'm not sure what you think, sir, but I'm not just some old man you can push around. Do you like interviews? Interviews. You know, people asking questions. Like why do you do what you do, where did you come from, what are you working on. Have you heard of this radio program the Organist? Organist. Like a person who plays an organ. In a church, maybe. You know, when I was young I used to go the Renissance theater for plays and whatnot, and this man would play the organ before every show. They kept his organ under the stage and as he started to play, the stage would open and he would rise up. We must have seen that man rise up dozens of times, playing cartoon songs or movie themes, and we never got sick of it. Every kid in Mansfield loved that man. Everybody loved the Organist.Read full review »

Seriously, for my taste, this is one of the best podcasts anywhere. I'm hooked. Great content and interviews. VERY well produced with lots of creative touches. Engaging and packed with cultural and artistic insights that I've never heard, seen, nor ready anywhere else. Highly recommended.Read full review »
