Economics with factual citations
I had my political and economic alignments prior to listening to this podcast and I will admit that we are probably a match made in heaven in terms of what Jim and Chris talk about on the podcast. I am a seasoned global traveller and there is not a continent on this planet I haven’t visited. Yes Ireland is far from perfect but it is in my view a very good place to grow up and live in. Vancouver, Sydney, San Fran, New York, Auckland, Los Angeles, London I’ve been to them all. All these Anglophone countries that Irish people invariably travel to are not better and more often than not, are worse than what Ireland has to offer. This opinion is always backed up by corresponding economic data. The whole “the lads are establishment stooges” aside I find the podcast in General to be tonally the right blend for me. Other perhaps well known Irish economic/political podcasts are guilty of a pet hate of mine - lads Constantly thinking they could be comedians. Chris & Jim treat their discussions with the right level of seriousness while still maintaining a palpable sense of character underneath it all.
