No new eps in a while, just wanted to know what happened. Really loved this show while it was going.

Great wide ranging topics needed for the time!

A truly engaging, well balanced and insightful Podcast on such a broad range of current issues that are generally not challenged with expert, in depth research but thankfully have been on this Podcast series. A credit to all concerned and a ‘ must listen’ for ALL of us. 👏

No complaints.

I think Pareene is a great audio (and prose) presence. Glad he’s finally found a worthy show and co-host in Laura Marsh. Both provide smart journalistic inquiry into important and controversial issues in the news.

Don’t worry too much about going back to the 70s. It wasn’t all bad. College tuition was certainly less. Most people drove smaller cars that were a lot easier to park than today’s behemoths. The Castro District and the Mission District in San Francisco were kind of affordable. I wouldn’t want to...Read full review »

I have been going back through the past catalogue. There are just so many fascinating things which they have covered. I would love to hear a bit more about the New Right in the states, along with some of the other topics which they have covered.

The producer of this podcast should get a job.

This podcast hits that rare combo of good production and interesting content. They pick good guests and I always learn something. Excited for some new episodes!

No mention at all of the downside of debt cancellation. Why should I pay for another’s conscience, voluntary choices? Why should a responsible person who worked two jobs to pay his debt be played for a sucker by freeloaders? What lesson does this give to those who made a contract?

Super biased, and fairly idiotic. Good production though, must have wealthy backers!!

This is a podcast that, to date at least, has never failed to get my interest piqued, my attention fully engaged, and even, more often than not, my jaw dropping. The in-depth analysis is of rare distinction, the guests are usually fascinating, often incredibly astute and always well-informed....Read full review »

The show features great hosts and expert guests who effectively distill otherwise esoteric and mundane topics into highly enjoyable listens! Recommended!

why are these christian right wing or just right wing groups seems to me in general are started by men: christian crusaders, right to life, proud boys, boogaloos, etc. Discuss

This is my first time writing a review but the what I just heard was so bad I thought I’d share. I listened to the episode about Andrew Yang’s candidacy for mayor of NYC (where I and apparently the hosts live). It was a bizarre spree of superficial puffery about Yang’s social media- particularly...Read full review »

when I’m out of On The Media episodes, this podcast provides a lot of the same interesting analysis of media/politics, with some quirky stories and tangents thrown in. I love the hosts and hope that TNR continues to invest in podcasts like this.

This podcast is so great. Not only have a I learned a lot - but it’s exposed me to other great people doing interesting work (it’s how I came to follow Emily Atkin and her newsletter HEATED). A must-listen

A Stream of smug cliches and formulas, nothing resembling thinking much less debate or questioning, presided over by 3 hosts who seem able only to chirp other than talk, one of whom cannot put two phrases together without plopping a “like” between them. If you are looking for silliness, this is...Read full review »

I am a giant Podcast listener and this podcast is absolutely the best I have ever listened to. It is informative and entertaining. The hosts are witty and smart. The information is new and different. I loved listening.

Alex pareene has always managed to see the forest through the trees and that analysis continues on in this format as well

Very solid treatment of an important issue facing us today.

I really liked the first episode and I think this is a good concept for a show. Looking forward to the politics of other things!

The New Republic has become my first stop for all things on culture and politics and my hope this new podcast would be an extension of what I’ve been reading has been fulfilled. Laura and Alex make a great team which can make heavy topics palatable. Looking forward to many more.

It’s solid. At least one episode in. Still sad that Taibbi and Parenee don’t do this stuff together though.
