“Love this podcast, I work from home 3 days a week and I’ve been stuck in a mindless true crime rut, listening to podcasts about murders and scam artists, the constant barrage of violence and scandal becoming a strange dulcet lullaby, which I’m barely even paying attention to. It’s my weird white noise.
I loved listening to the episode ‘The Death of Nuance’ and feel this podcast has given me inspiration to change my listening habits for the better and seek out some more stimulating conversation which is thought provoking without being stuffy or pretentious.
This particular episode got me thinking about which media I am consuming at a surface level and which media is causing me to think more critically, and the difference between the two. Which films are constructed from click data and feeding my ‘just let people enjoy things’ mentality, and which films break that mould and cut through the white noise we are so accustomed to? And also those confusing ‘Middle Brow’ productions , which had been giving me a sense of confused unease, but now I realise it’s that uncanny valley of an algorithm impersonating high art.
Thanks Guys! Love to listen x”
