I was just listening to the awful Laura Dickinson murder. How does a jury decide on the amount of compensation towards the victim or the victim’s family and do they receive the funds? Do they have a band to choose within or can they just award whatever the jury agreed on? Heartbreaking to lose a family member due to crime and no amount of money can lessen grief.
