Nice Quick Show
A lost piece of history — the Chicago woman behind the “welfare queen” stereotype. This podcast is a companion to the recently released book of the same name. It’s pretty simple — lots of narration, little interview clips and archival audio from media reports and press conferences. But it’s great for what it is. Didn’t take too long to listen to all the episodes.

This pod is such an interesting mix: it’s both about the criminal justice system *and* an incredibly smart true crime podcast. The host is thoughtful and clearly a fantastic reporter. Excited about this one and can’t wait to hear more.

The show is well reported, but blatantly anti-Reagan. It provides zero rebuttal for the reason President Reagan pursued the welfare policies that he did. Very interesting podcast, very one-sided.

Engaging, stimulating, sets the stage for a compelling story, and - bonus -nice voice to listen to.
