Like a good cook tastes their food before serving, I think you should listen to your podcast before publishing it. Many instances of bad editing where one track is talking over another.

I listened to one season of this podcast, 1942, as I’m not interested in the other years featured. I learned some interesting things from the 1942 series, so thanks to everyone for that. My favorite episode was the one about radio propaganda/disinformation. Fascinating. If you ever do any year...Read full review »

Just learned their will be no more seasons of this show and I’m so disappointed. Also not surprised because it seems that any truly good podcasts get cancelled and the subpar ones live on endlessly. Such is life. Loved this show. Should be more of them.

Love the topics covered, and 1 hour episode are the perfect story length

I just finished bingeing all 6 seasons over the last couple weeks. It’s been a great show. Sad to learn there’s no season 7. Hopefully you can bring it back. Really enjoyed the show.

If you listen to one or two of the more light hearted episodes it’s okay. However, the guys upward inflections get old, really fast and you’ll find yourself in physical pain. Also, the summation of every single episode seems to be “America good”. What in the ever loving propaganda is that all...Read full review »

Please continue making One Year - I’ve loved the stories from each season!

Slate please reconsider halting production! Josh, Evan and team have done a masterful job of uncovering quirky, personal stories that bring to life important moments in history through a combination of incredible storytelling, touching interviews and rare, archival footage. I’ve learned so much...Read full review »

This is the first time I’ve left a podcast review, but wanted to add my voice to the others expressing hope that production picks back up! Love listening to One Year, it’s full of stories I probably would never have learned about otherwise and I love diving into the world of a smaller scale,...Read full review »

I absolutely love this podcast. There is NOTHING negative to say about the content or its delivery. It’s remarkable how many significant events take place in just one year and how most of us fail to recognize or remember them. And, without remembering the past, recognizing the mistakes made, we...Read full review »

Very bummed to hear this podcast is going on hiatus. I hope Slate brings it back.

So many fascinating stories and very enjoyable to listen to. Every year should get the 1 year treatment!

This is the most engaging podcast I’ve ever heard. The only one where my mind doesn’t wander. So OF COURSE they cancelled it. Really? Come on, guys. This podcast is awesome. I’ve learned a lot and got to relive a lot. Please please PLEASE bring it back

This is such a wonderful show to experience pivotal moments during a single time frame. I love hearing the stories through the voices of the people who were in the moment. I hope Slate finds a way to continue the show into the future.

Just listened to the last episode of 1990 and found out Slate had suspended the show? Boo! This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts, you can’t just take it away from me! It’s a real blow to hear One Year is being canceled. There are stories I’ve heard on this podcast that I would never have heard otherwise, and I consider myself well read. It’s telling that it would be canceled after two seasons that really highlighted POC and LGBT+ content, though.

Every season is really really good. Familiar stories are told in an interesting way with new information. New topics are very original. Thank you for your good work.

My uncle a former dairyman in Santa Maria of which Guadalupe is economically associated, started growing broccoli after the government bought his herd. I remember hearing my cousin tell about the decision to grow it.

…the editing for the endings of each episodes is really poorly done. I understand the need and desire to have people pay to subscribe and help support the costs of a podcast. I really do. However, cutting off the end of the FREE episodes without any real wrap up or conclusion is not a great way...Read full review »

I left a previous review about the audio issues and Josh reached out personally to help me resolve. All you have to do is download the episode. It is not an editing problem. The show is so interesting and informative. Stories I have never heard before. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love this podcast and have listened to seasons 3-5. I see a lot of people say that there are audio issues, but I have not experienced any on any episodes that I have listened to. Not sure if this is something in the first and second season, but I have not had any problems.

The story of the Cannon Street baseball team is heartbreaking but somewhat uplifting given their reception at the Little League World Series. Still, those little boys deserved to play. But the evil white men who stopped them seem to have a legacy even today. The anti-abortionists, anti-voting,...Read full review »

We love listening to history podcasts at night. This one is a favorite. But the new season needs some work — the audio is crazy loud during commercials and quiet during the show. It’s jarring and very frustrating.

Each story is so good it could be spun off into its own show, but pieces are wonderfully edited and executed.

I started listening yesterday, when I saw their newest episode 1942: The Most Hated Man in America, and it was incredibly entertaining and incredibly rich with keynote speakers and real time discussions from 1942, often in the form of radio talk. Great podcast, can’t wait to see what’s next.

The worst “One Year” yet. Non-stop and utterly pointless background music can’t conceal the vapid content.

Great podcast! As a boomer 1968 was a monumental year. Please consider it. There is even a book about 1968.
