This ‘interview’ was really terrible. Not a single critical question about your own point of view! Why did people vote for Trump? Because he recognises what ordinary people want and need. Try assessing where your assessments are or maybe so wide of the expectations of USA citizens.

The time spent on listening to this weekly podcast is always worthwhile. New perspectives and more in depth discussions on international affairs

This is a weekly must listen for me. A balanced, intelligent, and thorough deep dive into a topical subject. Thank you Gideon and the team

Célia Belin was a poor choice of commentator. The French politologue are part of France’s problem and are unlikely to provide a neutral, differentiated opinion.

Gideon I love listening to your interviews- so insightful and in large part it’s thanks to your exceptional insight. I rarely miss an episode

This is my favourite podcast out there! Each conversation is so succinct and the guests are very articulate. It’s the complete opposite of our current Twitter news culture, without straying into being boring or full of waffle. I always learn a lot! Definitely recommend a listen.

It’s concise, it’s considered, always topical. You walk away with a grasp of the issues, the benefit of Gideon’s thoughtful questioning and access to leading commentators. Brilliant.

The interview with Emile Hokayem was such a good episode. Thoughtful & insightful. Giving the time and space for discussions like this is why podcasts are so invaluable.

The episode released on the 18th May was even more interesting than usual, and that’s saying something.

Rachman ought to be to geopolitics journalism what his colleague Martin Wolf is to economics comment and analysis. Yet somehow he doesn’t quite pull it all together. I have wondered why, both for his written pieces and for his podcast (which is now more than a couple of years old). He has amazing...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to the show for months now. Hoping that I will actually hear something interesting and engaging. Boy was I wrong. Most of the episodes are way too long and boring with people calling on bad audio lines from their shoddy mobile phones. This is not a quality show. Even the host...Read full review »

Okay, After the comments from Russian, so what? Ukraine is a sovereign state in international community. She has the absolute rights to decide what organization, Allies and Relation she wants to deal with. I have not heard a more cogent and thoughtful analysis of Afghanistan till this podcast. Too bad so many Afghans had to die for what was essentially a war that was designed/prolonged by American corruption. Sober analysis; reveals contradictory nature of events. Good selection of guests, excellent questions. Political journalism can be good.

This is one of those podcasts where when you’re not interested in an episode, you feel as though you really should be! The host does two great things: finds interesting “behind the scenes” people to speak with, then makes each episode all about them, rather than himself. At the same time the...Read full review »

A totally enjoyable and immersive podcast that gives an unbiased and critical analysis of both historical and current affairs. Never too long. Always a pleasurable experience.

These are gentle discussions of issues that fail to get below the surface. Breezy and patently false statements are made by guests that go unchallenged. Disappointing.

Gideon Rachman is a great journalist but does see everything through an over arching narrative of Trump bad, Macron good, Brexit bad, EU good. Would it kill him to offer a bit more nuance?
